Description

Nintendo is raising the bar for competitive sports gaming with the debut of Drag x Drive, a groundbreaking 3-on-3 sports title designed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Officially launching on August 14, Drag x Drive leverages the full potential of the Joy-Con 2 controllers' motion and mouse-like controls, delivering an immersive athletic experience inspired by wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, BMX, and skateboarding. Developed for Nintendo Switch 2, Drag x Drive puts players in control of dynamic, accessible competition.

Using dual mouse-like controls, players move their wheels by sliding both Joy-Con 2 controllers forward across a flat surface, creating realistic and fluid in-game movement.

Turning is accomplished by advancing one Joy-Con while pulling the other back, enabling swift pivots.

To take a shot, simply lift your hand and flick your wrist — thanks to advanced motion controls, passing, dunking, and trick moves feel natural and responsive. Players can rack up bonus points by executing stunts such as bunny hops, backflips, and launching off half-pipes.

Interactive gestures including clapping, waving, and high-fiving teammates further set Drag x Drive apart from conventional sports titles. The game’s online connectivity is equally robust.

Players join virtual lobbies to compete in matches with friends or other players worldwide.

Once six users have entered, gameplay begins automatically, while up to 12 can gather in a Public Park for larger social experiences.

Friend Parks offer private courts and customizable sessions, including minigames and leaderboard competitions to foster friendly rivalry.

Offline, solo players can hone their skills against computer-controlled opponents, allowing them to practice and perfect various playstyles. Three distinct driver classes — Guard, Center, and Forward — offer different strengths and strategies.

Each avatar is customizable with unlockable helmets, armor, frames, tires, color schemes, and even jersey numbers, enabling personalization and strategic variety for every player. Beyond court play, Drag x Drive includes the Circuit Sprint minigame, shooting contests, and park-wide minigames like Rebound Scramble and jump rope challenges.

Completing in-game achievements rewards players with trophies and further customization options. Ahead of launch, Nintendo will host the Drag x Drive: Global Jam demo event for Nintendo Switch 2 players with active Nintendo Switch Online memberships.
