Nintendo has officially launched Drag x Drive, an innovative action-sports title now available as a digital download on Nintendo Switch 2.
As fans eagerly anticipated its arrival, the game was spotlighted in a dynamic launch trailer, marking its final public showcase before release.
Developed specifically to leverage the unique features of the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, Drag x Drive promises an engaging blend of competitive multiplayer and rich customization options for players.
Leveraging the advanced capabilities of the Joy-Con controllers, Drag x Drive introduces dual motion controls to enhance gameplay.
Players maneuver their wheels by sliding both Joy-Con 2 controllers forward on a flat surface to surge ahead, or control turns and pivots by adjusting one controller independently.
Grasping the ball and executing shots is performed with intuitive motion gestures, including wrist flicks.
The game also emphasizes skillful play, awarding extra points to players who perform stunts such as bunny hops, backflips, and half-pipe launches.
For added interactivity, players can use motion controls to clap, wave, and exchange high-fives with teammates.
Drag x Drive offers both online and offline experiences.
Online, players can enter Public Parks for quick matches, with up to 12 participants in a lobby and games commencing as soon as six players are present.
For more private sessions, Friend Parks are available—here, groups can gather, communicate with or without GameChat, and customize their activities across two courts, supporting up to six players per court.
Separate leaderboards and a variety of minigames provide additional layers of competition within these parks.
Solo players are supported as well, with offline gameplay against computer-controlled opponents to hone skills.
The game features three distinct driver classes—Guard, Center, and Forward—each offering unique strengths and playstyles.
This allows players to select a driver that best complements their strategy on the court.
To further diversify the gameplay experience, Drag x Drive includes the Circuit Sprint minigame, shooting competitions, and park-wide challenges such as Rebound Scramble and jump rope for practicing bunny hops.
Progression is rewarded through the completion of in-game challenges, which unlock trophies and a wide array of customization options.
Players can personalize their drivers’ appearance with helmets, armor, frames, tires, custom colors, and unique numbers.
The official launch of Drag x Drive on Nintendo Switch 2 underscores Nintendo’s continued commitment to delivering fresh gameplay mechanics and social experiences.
With robust online capabilities, innovative motion controls using the latest Joy-Con technology, and a depth of customization, Drag x Drive is poised to become a must-try title for Switch 2 owners.
