Nintendo has announced DK Challenge, a limited-time event for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on Nintendo Switch 2 that highlights classic Donkey Kong titles available through the Nintendo Classics apps.

The promotion runs Wednesday, 10 June 2026 through Tuesday, 1 September 2026, and invites players to complete curated challenges across NES, Super NES and Game Boy games that feature Donkey Kong.

According to Nintendo’s announcement, DK Challenge is a time-limited celebration of the Donkey Kong series designed for Nintendo Switch 2 users with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Players who complete the event tasks will receive collectible digital Challenge Cards; Nintendo also confirmed that additional challenges will be unlocked for owners of Donkey Kong Bananza.

The event spans titles delivered via the Nintendo Classics apps for NES, Super NES and Game Boy, platforms included in Nintendo Switch Online’s classic game libraries.

Nintendo accompanied the DK Challenge reveal with a trailer and official screenshots showcasing sample challenges and the Challenge Cards collectible system.

Nintendo Switch Online membership pricing is listed as £3.49 ($3.99) per month, £6.99 ($7.99) for three months, or £17.99 ($19.99) for 12 months.

A 12-month Family Membership is priced at £31.49 ($34.99) and allows a Nintendo Account holder to invite up to seven others to join a family group with shared access to Nintendo Switch Online.

For the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier, an individual 12-month membership is priced at £34.99 ($49.99) while a Family Membership is priced at £59.99 ($79.99).

DK Challenge is positioned as a seasonal incentive to engage members of Nintendo Switch Online on Nintendo Switch 2 and to spotlight the legacy of Donkey Kong across Nintendo’s retro catalogs.
