Milestone and Mattel have confirmed that Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, a high-speed arcade racer set in a Hot Wheels-scaled world, is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and will arrive at retail and on the Nintendo eShop worldwide on 24 September 2026.

Milestone, an Italian developer best known for its catalog of racing franchises such as MotoGP and WRC, is handling development while Mattel supplies the Hot Wheels license and brand expertise.

In publisher materials, the teams described the game’s environments as dynamic, freely explorable spaces built at Hot Wheels scale across four themed islands.

Players will be able to traverse those islands with sky-jumps between areas, smash through environmental obstacles, and search for hidden collectibles—delivering arcade-style stunts and high-speed action that extend beyond the franchise’s signature orange tracks.

The publisher also outlined the game’s major features in detail:

- Explore a Hot Wheels-Sized World: Hot Wheels Infinite Rush will let players race across four distinct islands.

The environments are designed for free-roaming exploration and include interactive elements that encourage stunt-driven play and collectible hunts.

- High-Speed Arcade Racing: The game includes more than 150 vehicles organized into four handling classes.

Players can upgrade cars and assemble a “Rush Squad” featuring both classic Hot Wheels originals and licensed entries from premium automotive brands such as Ferrari.

- Competitive Multiplayer: Hot Wheels Infinite Rush supports online play and local split-screen, with split-screen allowing up to four players on a single system.

Races will feature up to six competitors, combining human opponents and AI where applicable, plus leaderboards and asynchronous challenge systems.

- Create and Customise: Vehicle customisation includes Sticker and Livery editors with new wheel options.

The enhanced track builder introduces a ground-snapping system so track modules can attach directly to the environment; creators can also place action markers to add virtual opponents that follow defined paths on custom tracks.

Milestone’s experience with racing simulators and arcade racers positions the studio to translate Hot Wheels’ toy-driven design into a playable, scaled experience on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

The confirmed release date of 24 September 2026 will see the title available both physically and digitally on the Nintendo eShop.
