Behaviour Interactive has announced the arrival of an exciting new crossover event in Dead by Daylight, introducing Springtrap from the iconic horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s.
This highly anticipated content is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, reaffirming Dead by Daylight’s status as a hub for the horror genre’s most memorable icons.
Since its original release in 2016, Dead by Daylight has distinguished itself as the premier asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience, continually growing its roster through collaborations with major horror IPs.
Now, Springtrap—one of Five Nights at Freddy’s most terrifying antagonists—joins the lineup of playable killers, bringing with him the ominous atmosphere of Freddy’s Pizzeria, which also debuts as a new in-game map.
In an official statement, representatives from Behaviour Interactive highlighted the significant moment, noting that the partnership with Five Nights at Freddy’s marks a new chapter in expanding horror universes within Dead by Daylight.
As the developers explained, players can “step into the suit and deliver the franchise’s signature jump scares as Springtrap,” offering an immersive experience for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Alongside Springtrap’s arrival, Dead by Daylight introduces an array of new cosmetics inspired by the beloved Five Nights at Freddy’s universe.
Among the additions are the Legendary Outfits for characters such as Glitchtrap and Yellow Rabbit—both represented in the game’s cosmetics and based on portrayals by actor Matthew Lillard.
Additional outfit variants include the Very Rare Clown Springtrap and Toxic Springtrap skins, as well as a unique Freddy Fazbear’s T-Shirt for the game’s original Survivors.
The Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter exemplifies the developer’s continued commitment to delivering thrilling, crossover events designed to enhance replay value and entice fans of both franchises.
All content in this collaboration is now accessible via the Nintendo eShop and system storefronts across supported platforms, available as downloadable content for players eager to expand their horror gaming library.
With its innovative blend of licensed horror characters, Dead by Daylight remains a flagship title for Behaviour Interactive and a standout on Nintendo Switch since its launch on the platform in September 2020.
As of June 2024, the game has achieved significant milestones, including over 7 million copies sold globally and frequent spotlight appearances during Nintendo Direct showcases.
For fans looking to immerse themselves in the ultimate crossover of horror gaming, the Springtrap update in Dead by Daylight promises suspenseful gameplay and new challenges, reinforcing the game’s reputation as a leader in asymmetrical multiplayer experiences.
