Sword & Axe and indie.io have officially announced the Nintendo Switch release of the highly anticipated tactical RPG, Dark Deity 2.

Scheduled to arrive on the Nintendo eShop on September 4, 2025, Dark Deity 2 brings a fresh chapter to the epic strategy series, following up on the original title’s successful Switch launch in 2022. Expanding on the turn-based combat and intricate narrative that defined its predecessor, Dark Deity 2 transports players back to the continent of Verroa, a land still reeling from past conflict.

Now, a quarter-century after the Eternal Order’s struggle to rebuild, a new threat emerges as the expansionist Holy Asverellian Empire sets its sights on Verroa’s fractured territory.

Players will step into the shoes of the Eternal Delegation, commanded by descendants of series protagonist Irving—namely, Gwyn and Riordian—tasked with forging alliances, navigating tense factional politics, and fighting to unite the continent before it falls to war once again. In a statement reflecting the game’s design philosophy, the development team emphasized that Dark Deity 2 remains strongly rooted in player agency: "Every decision you make will affect the alliances you forge and your army’s ultimate shape.

Coupled with an immense pool of customization options, each playthrough delivers a unique tactical experience." At its core, Dark Deity 2 features deep turn-based combat across more than 20 heroes, each boasting access to 45 branching classes.

Every class comes equipped with distinctive abilities, passives, and tactical identities, allowing players to combine skills, unlock special abilities, and utilize a variety of gear to redefine their battlefield approach.
