Planted! coming to Nintendo Switch in 2026: Curveball and Cloth Cat reveal co-op gardening brawler

Curveball Games and developer Cloth Cat Games have confirmed that their cooperative party title Planted! is in development for Nintendo Switch, with a worldwide retail and Nintendo eShop release scheduled for 2026.

The announcement presents Planted! as a hybrid of harvest-sim systems and arena-based party combat designed for up to four players.

Planted! challenges teams to sow, grow and hurl produce at goals in frantic arena battles, with the objective of outscoring opponents through tactical planting and chaotic action.

The game supports local and online multiplayer with crossplay between PC and consoles, and also includes a single-player campaign set in what the developers describe as the "cutthroat world of competitive gardening." Players will be able to tackle eight distinct environments, each offering its own layout and gameplay twists.

In publisher commentary, Curveball Games senior publishing manager Ed Gregory said he was excited to present Planted! publicly for the first time, noting that Cloth Cat's concept—combining characterful design with playful, high-energy mechanics—immediately won the team over.

Cloth Cat Games creative producer Ben Cawthorne explained that Planted! grew from a five-year internal passion project and that the studio is thrilled to see the concept reach an official release phase.

Curveball's announcement also outlined several core features: cooperative and competitive modes supporting up to four players, a single-player campaign, a learning curve designed to let players discover tactics and adapt, environmental hazards and items such as spud turrets and weed bombs, and a roster of playable characters with unique personalities.

The publisher emphasized flexibility in playstyles, from coordinated team strategies to free-for-all chaos.

A first look at Planted! arrived alongside the announcement in the form of an introductory trailer, giving audiences an early glimpse at the game's tone and mechanics.

With its scheduled 2026 release window for Nintendo Switch—both physical and digital—the title adds to the growing slate of party-focused, crossplay-enabled games coming to the platform.
