ZUIKI, the Japanese company behind the X68000 Z micro-consoles, has officially taken a significant step towards expanding its reach beyond Japan by launching an English-language version of its website.
This update comes in response to growing international interest in the X68000 Z series, which pays homage to the iconic Sharp X68000 home computer, a staple of Japanese retro gaming culture.
The newly unveiled website aims to serve fans worldwide, providing the latest news, detailed product updates, and future plans for the micro-console lineup.
In a recent statement, ZUIKI expressed enthusiasm about engaging global audiences, noting: "We are thrilled to announce a dedicated platform for X68000 Z supporters outside of Japan.
Our goal is to deliver seamless updates and connect with retro gaming fans across all regions."
To further support international interest, ZUIKI has opened a registration form on the website, inviting users from outside Japan to express their intention to purchase the X68000 Z.
According to a company representative, "ZUIKI is currently considering the sale of X68000 Z units internationally.
Interested customers are encouraged to register their email addresses.
We will notify registrants once the specifics of overseas sales channels and methods are finalized."
Originally launched as a tribute to the classic Sharp X68000, the X68000 Z micro-console quickly gained momentum among retro hardware enthusiasts in Japan.
Building on this popularity, ZUIKI has recently unveiled two new models: the X68000 Z Super and the X68000 Z XVI.
Unlike the original system, these upcoming releases are being actively considered for a Western rollout.
The X68000 Z Super boasts enhanced physical dimensions (227mm width, 96mm height, and 169mm depth) and maintains the same SoC and memory as its predecessor.
Notably, this model introduces built-in Wi-Fi, expanded SCSI, MIDI, and D-Sub connectivity, as well as support for installing a Nano-ITX motherboard—enabling potential dual-boot configurations with Windows.
The X68000 Z XVI steps up the technical offerings with a new system-on-chip (SoC), increased memory, and includes all the improvements found in the Super model.
Both the X68000 Z Super and X68000 Z XVI opened for pre-orders via the Japanese crowdfunding site Kibidango in February.
Pricing for the X68000 Z Super starts at 59,800 yen, while the XVI variant is available across multiple configurations beginning at 74,800 yen and extending up to 680,000 yen.
The X68000 Z’s expanding ecosystem reflects ZUIKI’s commitment to retro gaming innovation and global community building.
As the company explores international distribution, the launch of the English-language website marks an important milestone for fans eager to see the legacy of Japanese computer gaming hardware reach new markets.
For up-to-date information, potential buyers and enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the official X68000 Z website and register for further announcements.
