The game features multiple tranquil environments—such as beaches, forests, plateaus, and snow-covered mountains—where players are challenged to nurture their own virtual fire.

Mastering environmental factors like humidity, air flow, and wood moisture becomes crucial as players attempt to nurture their campfire to the coveted Level 10 and advance through increasingly difficult climates. Oink Games describes Chillin’ By The Fire as a novel approach to simulation gaming, especially on the Nintendo Switch 2.

GameShare allows up to four players to gather around a campfire—even if only one player owns the game—through both local and online multiplayer.

Those with a USB-C compatible camera accessory can use CameraPlay, showing their real faces in-game during video chat sessions around the fire.

Oink Games notes that this fosters a unique feeling of togetherness, enabling both everyday conversation and deeper interactions prompted by on-screen Campfire Convo questions.
