Description

Studio Lalala, a rising star in indie game development, has officially confirmed that its latest title, Kemono Teatime, will launch on Nintendo Switch in September.

Following months of anticipation within the Nintendo community, Kemono Teatime promises to deliver a heartwarming tea-making simulator experience, elevating the Switch’s already diverse library of cozy and creative games. Kemono Teatime invites players to step into the shoes of a café manager in Melodius, a whimsical world where characters with animal ears are an everyday delight.

The game empowers players to craft a wide range of teas—drawing from nine varieties of black tea, fifteen fragrant herbs, and six secret ingredients—to meet the unique tastes and stories of each customer.

As players manage their café, they will forge connections with a vibrant cast of characters, handle the ebb and flow of customer relationships, and immerse themselves in the soothing ambiance of tea preparation, all rendered with Studio Lalala’s signature pastel aesthetic. In an official statement, the developers at Studio Lalala emphasized the importance of savoring every moment and relationship encountered in the game.

They highlighted how every customer, each with their own charming animal features, leaves a lasting impact on the player’s journey, and underscored the bittersweet reality that, just like a cup of tea, these moments are precious and fleeting. Kemono Teatime is distinguished not only by its narrative and creative recipes, but also by its soundtrack.

The game’s theme song, crafted by Snail’s House with lyrics composed and performed by Kotori Koiwai, pays homage to daniwell’s viral classic "Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!" This musical collaboration adds a whimsical yet nostalgic layer that complements the game’s overall mood. Players can anticipate an engaging mix of cafe management and character-driven storytelling, with repeat visits from familiar faces in Melodius and emotional goodbyes that reinforce the themes of impermanence and cherishing the present.

The official trailer, available now, offers a glimpse of the game’s inviting world and its roster of kemomimi (animal-eared) patrons. Kemono Teatime will be available via the Nintendo Switch eShop this September.

Studio Lalala has yet to announce a specific release date; additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

With its thoughtful approach to narrative and its engaging, tactile gameplay, Kemono Teatime is poised to be a standout addition to the Switch’s indie game catalog this fall. For more details on upcoming Nintendo Switch releases and news from Studio Lalala, stay tuned to our Nintendo coverage hub.
