Masala Games is set to shine a spotlight on India with the announcement of Detective Dotson, a unique mystery adventure game coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

The highly-anticipated title will launch globally via the Nintendo eShop later this year, introducing players to a vibrant, stylized version of modern-day India and offering a fresh perspective rarely seen in mainstream gaming. Detective Dotson places players in the shoes of its titular character, a reluctant detective harboring dreams of becoming a Bollywood star.

He underscored the company's commitment to remedying this gap, describing the game as "a celebration of India's beauty, humor, and spirit of adventure." Detective Dotson offers a hand-crafted world blending 2D and 3D art styles, inviting players to explore bustling city streets filled with food carts, dance stages, bazaars, and surprising encounters around every corner.

The gameplay encourages resourcefulness: players must barter and buy items such as incense sticks, street food, and Bollywood memorabilia, using these resources to unlock new conversations, gather valuable information, and progress in their investigations. The adventure is further enriched with engaging mini-games, including street cricket and Bollywood dance-offs.

Success in these challenges not only rewards the player but also enhances their bargaining abilities, occasionally yielding critical clues that influence the outcome of the mysteries.
