Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen Nintendo Switch Launch Trailer Live — Family Adventure from Halfbrick

Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen launched this week on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, arriving both physically and digitally.

The adventure title draws directly from the BAFTA and multi-Emmy Award-winning Bluey series and features an original story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm.

A new launch trailer has gone live alongside the release, showcasing the game’s hand-drawn visuals and family-focused design.

Developed with a focus on accessibility for younger players and cooperative family play, the game blends animated cutscenes with discovery-driven gameplay.

The development team integrated fully animated sequences and character performances into a narrative written by Joe Brumm, aiming to preserve the charm and heart of the television series while creating interactive moments for players of all ages.

Halfbrick produced and composed an original soundtrack in-house for the title, supporting the game’s colorful aesthetic and playful tone.

Environments are hand-drawn and take visual cues from episodes such as Dragon and Escape, translating familiar show locations into nine distinct levels.

These include snowy peaks, golden beaches, lush forests and iconic Australian landscapes like the Outback.

The core adventure premises have been presented in clear, family-friendly terms: Bluey is drawing when Dad takes the Gold Pen she needs to finish her story, and the family’s drawings bring a new world to life.

Players follow Bluey and Bingoose — Bingo’s plucky alter ego — as they embark on a quest to recover the Gold Pen from Dad’s self-styled King Goldie Horns, encountering puzzles, collectibles and mini-quests along the way.

Key gameplay and feature highlights:

- Nine hand-drawn levels spanning varied Australian-inspired biomes

- Exploration, puzzle solving and collectible-driven progression

- Glide, fly and skate mechanics to navigate vibrant, animated stages

- Heartwarming encounters with lost critters and family-friendly challenges

- Local co-play designed for shared controller passing and cooperative discovery

- Full voiced narration coming soon to aid younger players

Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen is available now physically and digitally, including on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch platforms.

The launch trailer offers a concise look at the game’s art direction, characters and cooperative moments, making it a useful first look for families and fans planning to pick up the title.
