Nightdive Studios Announces 'Blood: Refreshed Supply' Remaster for Nintendo Switch and Consoles

Nightdive Studios has officially announced 'Blood: Refreshed Supply,' a highly anticipated remaster of Monolith Productions' legendary 1997 first-person shooter, Blood.

Revealed during the PC Gaming Show at Tokyo Game Show, the new edition marks the return of the cult-classic FPS and, for the first time, its debut on modern consoles, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Originally released exclusively for PC, Blood earned a devoted following and critical acclaim for its dark atmosphere, innovative level design, and distinctive protagonist, Caleb.

Despite its status as a foundational FPS from the 1990s, Blood has remained inaccessible to console gamers for decades, in part due to complicated legacy rights involving WB Games and Atari. Nightdive Studios, known for their expertise in remastering classic titles, previously released 'Blood: Fresh Supply' in 2019.

However, that release suffered from lingering technical issues and limited post-launch updates due to licensing constraints.

With 'Blood: Refreshed Supply,' the studio can finally deliver a definitive, faithful version, thanks to newly resolved rights issues that have permitted access to Blood’s original source code.

This breakthrough allows for an authentic recreation of the classic experience, free from previous limitations. One of the major highlights of this release is Nightdive’s collaboration with renowned community modders.

Two of the most celebrated modifications for Blood, 'Marrow' and 'Death Wish,' will be officially integrated into the remaster.

These mods will join the main campaign, accompanied by additional new content crafted by Nightdive Studios.

Discussing the partnership, Nightdive CEO Stephen Kick indicated on social media that the mod makers are set to become a core part of a new development team, with plans to produce expansions for other iconic Nightdive projects. 'Blood: Refreshed Supply' is set to launch on December 4th, 2025, and will be available digitally across the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Xbox storefronts with a MSRP of $29.99.

This updated edition is positioned to become the ultimate version of Blood, providing both longtime fans and newcomers the most comprehensive and polished iteration yet. Nightdive Studios continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in resurrecting video game classics, ensuring that influential titles like Blood receive the restoration and platform reach their legacy deserves.

Console players can finally experience Monolith’s masterpiece, and PC fans will receive the definitive remaster they’ve been waiting for.
