Iijan Announces First Wave of Bayonetta Plush Collection for 2026

Iijan, a leading retailer of gaming and anime merchandise, has officially revealed its upcoming Bayonetta plush collection, igniting excitement among fans of PlatinumGames’ acclaimed action series.

Announced via Iijan’s English Twitter account on April 8, 2026, the collection launches as the 'first wave' in a broader series that celebrates the supernatural action and iconic characters of Bayonetta’s universe.

The centerpiece of the release is a pair of meticulously designed plush figures: Bayonetta herself, appearing in the style of her 'Bayonetta 2' character model, and Jeanne, her Umbra Witch counterpart, faithful to her look from the original 'Bayonetta' game.

Each character will be offered in two formats—a larger ‘BIG’ plush edition and a compact 'Mascot Size,' catering to both avid collectors and fans seeking display-friendly memorabilia.

In a public statement conveyed through Famitsu, Iijan founder Masafumi Suzuki explained that the plush project benefited from comprehensive oversight, underscoring the commitment to authenticity that fans expect from official merchandise.

Notably, Bayonetta’s longtime designer Mari Shimazaki was directly involved, personally revising and redrawing the faces of both witch heroines to ensure that each plush captures the essence of their digital counterparts.

"We received exceptional guidance throughout development, and Mari Shimazaki herself redrafted the plush faces to meet the highest standards," Suzuki emphasized.

Such attention to detail is sure to resonate with the Bayonetta community and collectors of licensed Nintendo Switch memorabilia alike.

While pre-orders have not yet opened, Iijan has confirmed that purchase options are expected to become available within the month via their dedicated Bayonetta series webpage.

Looking ahead, Iijan has hinted at further expansions for the Bayonetta merchandise line.

Suzuki shared that, beyond plush figures, the company plans to issue attractively designed playing cards inspired by the in-game tarot decks seen in Bayonetta 2, though details and release timelines for these items remain forthcoming.

The Bayonetta franchise, praised for its stylish action and memorable characters, continues to thrive on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch.

Bayonetta 2, originally released on Wii U in 2014 and later ported to Switch in 2018, remains a best-selling and critically acclaimed installment.

PlatinumGames’ ongoing commitment to character-driven storytelling and gameplay innovation has ensured that Bayonetta retains a prominent place in the conversation surrounding top-tier Nintendo titles.

As Iijan’s plush series prepares to debut, fans can look forward to another way to celebrate the enduring magic of Bayonetta and the artistry behind the creation of its beloved characters.
