Inti Creates said the new edition adds support for higher frame rates and higher-resolution displays on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, and it introduces a brand-new story mode titled Azure Striker Gunvolt GX.
According to the developer, Azure Striker Gunvolt GX is a full-fledged story expansion that places players in control of a tag team made up of Gunvolt and Copen.
The mode features fully voiced dialogue in both English and Japanese, “live novel” segments that advance the narrative without pausing the action, and a suite of new weapons and skills for the two protagonists.
Inti Creates also described an “Inspiration” system that encourages players to swap between characters by granting significant skill and score boosts when managed effectively.
The developer clarified that Azure Striker Gunvolt GX will be included with the Nintendo Switch 2 edition and that the new story will also be offered as downloadable content for the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions of Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced.
