Nintendo delivered an action-packed August 2025 Indie World Showcase, unveiling a dynamic lineup of indie titles and updates slated to launch for both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The digital presentation highlighted the platform holder's commitment to supporting independent developers, with several surprise shadowdrops, anticipated sequels, and substantial content updates.
Here’s everything revealed, with verified details and platform-specific launch windows.
Major Indie Announcements and Updates
During the Indie World Showcase, Nintendo spotlighted a blend of action-adventure, puzzle, platforming, and narrative-driven games, slated to launch between 2025 and 2026.
One early highlight was the announcement of a significant free update for "Little Kitty, Big City" by Double Dagger Studio.
This update introduces new areas to explore, fresh hats and customization options, new animal interactions, enhanced photo features, and expanded opportunities for playful chaos—all arriving on Nintendo Switch later this year.
Yacht Club Games, creators of the acclaimed "Shovel Knight," took center stage with "Mina the Hollower." This new title invites players to explore a pixel-art world filled with action, hidden secrets, and formidable bosses.
A free demo is now live on the Nintendo eShop, and the full game is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 31, 2025.
Poti Poti Studio and Wholesome Games Pictures introduced "Is This Seat Taken?"—a cozy, logic-based puzzle game that challenges players to manage seat assignments in various real-world scenarios.
This title debuts today as a timed console exclusive on Nintendo Switch.
Adventure enthusiasts can look forward to "Herdling," a collaboration between Okomotive (of FAR series fame) and Panic.
Players will embark on an alpine journey with a herd of mystical creatures, scaling mountains and confronting hazards in a quest for survival and companionship.
"Herdling" launches August 21, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders open now via the Nintendo eShop.
Expanding the Showcase, Nintendo featured more standout indies:

The title lands on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2026.
