Shrek 2 Remastered Release Date Confirmed: Aspyr Brings Classic to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC and Consoles on November 10, 2026

Aspyr confirms Shrek 2 Remastered for Switch, Switch 2, PC and consoles

Developer Aspyr has officially announced Shrek 2 Remastered, revealing a multi-platform launch scheduled for November 10, 2026.

The remaster will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and is listed at a $30 price point.

Aspyr is offering a 10% pre-purchase discount on console storefronts through November 9, with the same discount on PC available through November 17.

Background and what’s new

The remaster revisits the licensed action-adventure game first released in 2004.

According to Aspyr’s storefront details, the title has been rebuilt with improved textures, an updated user interface, native 4K support for cutscenes and other visual enhancements.

The Steam listing also highlights a new photo mode with multiple filters and a “Cheat Mode” intended to let players modify gameplay for experimentation.

Preserving cooperative play

A core selling point of the original was its cooperative play, and Aspyr has confirmed support for offline, online, and mixed-format co-op so players can team up locally or over the internet.

The remaster also includes the character-swapping functionality familiar to fans of the 2004 release.

Trailer and marketing

Aspyr released a short trailer timed with the announcement that borrows stylistic cues and musical theming similar to the high-profile Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer.

The clip serves as a tongue-in-cheek marketing push ahead of the November release.

Platform notes and eShop availability

The remaster will be available on both the original Nintendo Switch and the recently introduced Nintendo Switch 2.

Listings on digital storefronts indicate the standard editions will be sold separately, and there does not appear to be an explicit upgrade path between platforms via the eShop at launch.

What this means for players

Shrek 2 Remastered targets fans of the original and players looking for family-friendly co-op on current hardware.

With cross-generation console support and enhanced visuals for capable systems, Aspyr’s release aims to make the 2004 title accessible on modern platforms when it arrives on November 10, 2026.
