Zombies Overloaded, an arcade-inspired shooter developed in partnership by Brainium Games and Vinterm Games, is officially set to launch on Nintendo Switch in the second quarter of 2025.
The announcement, shared today by both development teams, means Nintendo Switch owners can prepare to battle endless waves of the undead in this fast-paced, retro-style shooter.
Originally revealed by its indie developers, Zombies Overloaded immerses players in a relentless survival scenario where every run is a fight for survival against increasing odds.
The gameplay centers around being trapped in a compact arena, with the goal to fight, dodge, and utilize a variety of weapons and power-ups to thin the relentless zombie hordes.
The game injects classic arcade energy with modern flair, featuring randomly spawning weapons, dynamic boss battles, and multiple game stages for replay value.
In a statement from the developers, Brainium Games and Vinterm Games explained that Zombies Overloaded challenges players by escalating the action with unique boss encounters every five waves.
The title also introduces a "Pacifism Mode," where survival hinges solely on clever movement and quick reflexes, further intensifying the arcade challenge.
According to the official overview, two central stages, No-Escape and Cornered, will test players' grit and tactical decision-making as the action grows more frantic.
Players can look forward to a suite of engaging features on Nintendo Switch:
• A broad selection of quirky and bold skins to unlock and use, with character art dynamically displayed both in menus and during gameplay.
• Character upgrades available for damage, speed, and health, plus a unique 'bone magnet' feature to help collect in-game currency more efficiently.
• Integrated achievements to unlock, encouraging competition and rewarding skilled play.
• Online leaderboards, giving users the chance to compete globally and claim the title of ultimate zombie slayer.
Zombies Overloaded will be available exclusively as a digital download via the Nintendo eShop at launch, making it easily accessible for Switch owners worldwide.
The game continues Brainium Games and Vinterm Games' commitment to delivering challenging, high-energy arcade experiences to Nintendo's versatile hybrid console.
