Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day Guide — How to Craft Festive Wrapping Paper and Complete Jingle’s Gift Run

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, developed and published by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch, runs its in-game Toy Day seasonal event annually on December 24.

Toy Day tasks center on the character Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer who appears to coordinate festive activities and hand out seasonal DIY recipes and rewards.

How Toy Day works

On Toy Day you’ll meet Jingle, who asks for help crafting Festive Wrapping Paper via a DIY recipe.

To craft each Festive Wrapping Paper you need three materials: one Red Ornament, one Blue Ornament, and one Gold Ornament.

These Ornaments are obtainable throughout December by shaking trees that have been decorated with fairy lights.

Trees can yield multiple Ornaments, so a short search of your island’s decorated trees is usually enough to gather the materials.

Crafting and rewards

Each Festive Wrapping Paper requires one of each ornament color.

After crafting and giving Jingle the three wrapping papers he requests, players receive seasonal rewards such as Toy Day stockings and further DIY recipes.

Jingle suggested that hanging the stockings in your home could lead to an additional in-game effect, encouraging players to try it for themselves.

Delivering presents with the Magic Bag

Following the initial exchange, Jingle gives players a Magic Bag filled with presents intended for every resident on the island.

Your task is to speak to each villager while carrying the Magic Bag and hand them a present during the conversation.

The Magic Bag’s effect runs only on Toy Day; Jingle warns that the magic will wear off at 5:00 AM the next in-game morning, so deliveries must be completed within that window.

Jingle also indicated he would “share more of the joy” with players who deliver all presents and promised an additional extra-special gift for completing the run.

Final rewards

After delivering presents to every resident and returning the emptied Magic Bag to Jingle before the event ends, players are rewarded with additional DIY recipes.

Among the seasonal DIYs awarded are the Gift Pile recipe and the Toy Day Sleigh, both of which add holiday-themed décor options to player islands.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

The Toy Day event remains one of the series’ most consistent seasonal offerings, and familiarizing yourself with the Ornament and Magic Bag mechanics will make completing Jingle’s tasks straightforward on December 24.
