Amiga Format Magazine Returns: Amiga Addict Revives Classic Publication with Tribute Issue

Amiga Format, a publication once recognized as a cornerstone of Commodore's 16-bit home computer coverage, is receiving a new lease on life.

Thanks to the passionate team behind Amiga Addict—a contemporary magazine dedicated to keeping the Amiga legacy alive—a meticulously recreated tribute issue of Amiga Format is set to hit newsstands and online storefronts.

First launched in the UK during the golden era of home computing, Amiga Format played a pivotal role in chronicling Commodore's innovation and the dynamic software library of the Amiga platform.

After its original run ended 25 years ago, it remained a touchstone for retro gaming enthusiasts and computing history aficionados.

The latest tribute issue—produced with official authorization from Future Publishing, the intellectual property owner of Amiga Format—aims to be more than a nostalgic gesture.

Staying true to its roots, the magazine has been designed to closely mirror the classic look and feel of the original publication.

In addition, the special issue brings together interviews with former members of the Amiga Format editorial team, alongside full-length articles crafted by some of the brand's most esteemed contributors from Bath. "We're marking 40 years and 40 issues of Amiga Addict in style," stated the Amiga Addict editorial team.

"Instead of celebrating quietly, we've decided to do what we do best: create a unique publication.

It's been 25 years since Amiga Format, the UK's most prestigious computing magazine, bid farewell to readers.

With Future Publishing's support, we're honored to reintroduce the Amiga Format name for a commemorative edition.

This is more than a cosmetic revival; we reimagined the magazine format, brought back celebrated alumni, and packed the issue with authentic features and interviews.

We hope this serves as a true homage to the golden era when Amiga print media was at its peak." Collectors and fans eager to secure a copy can find the tribute issue at major retailers like WH Smiths, as well as directly from the official Amiga Addict website.

This special release underscores not just the enduring popularity of the Amiga platform, but the ongoing passion of its community in preserving the heritage of classic gaming and computing journalism.
