Description

Accessory manufacturer Genki has announced significant upgrades for two of its flagship Nintendo Switch 2 products—the Attack Vector modular case and the Sleeper Case—after responding to early customer feedback regarding design flaws.

These improvements come as Genki continues to expand its portfolio of Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, reaffirming the company's commitment to delivering high-quality products for the latest hybrid console. Genki, well-regarded for innovative accessories across Nintendo's platforms, found itself in the spotlight after showcasing its Switch 2 accessory lineup during CES earlier this year.

While many of the company’s offerings for the Nintendo Switch 2—including screen protectors and charging bases—were well-received, initial runs of the Attack Vector and Sleeper Case encountered "teething issues." Early adopters noted that the Attack Vector case fit too tightly in the Switch 2 dock, impeding compatibility with TV mode, while the Sleeper Case faced criticism for a particularly stubborn zipper. A spokesperson from Genki confirmed, “Both the Attack Vector modular case and the Sleeper Case are now available without the issues previously reported by customers at launch.” Nintendo-focused reviewers, such as those from Nintendo Life, independently corroborated these concerns, especially regarding the challenging zipper on the Sleeper Case. The newly refined versions of both accessories are now available directly from the Genki website.

The Attack Vector modular case is priced at £42/$49.99, with the Sleeper Case retailing at £36/$42.99.

These products join Genki’s broader Switch 2 accessory lineup and reflect the company’s responsiveness to community feedback. Despite these hardware improvements, Genki continues to face external challenges.

Following the company’s high-profile CES presentation—where Switch 2 prototype accessories were showcased ahead of Nintendo’s official hardware reveal—Nintendo initiated legal action.

The lawsuit alleges that Genki “demoed and promoted unauthorized purported mockups and renderings of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories.” In light of the lawsuit, Genki issued a formal statement affirming its commitment to legal compliance, stating it is “taking [Nintendo's case] seriously and working with legal counsel to respond thoughtfully,” and pledged to provide further updates as the situation develops. With its revised Attack Vector and Sleeper Case, Genki aims to deliver the level of design excellence and reliability that Nintendo Switch 2 owners expect.

As the new generation of Nintendo consoles continues to expand, third-party accessory manufacturers like Genki play a crucial role in enriching the hardware ecosystem, while navigating the complexities of platform-holder relationships and intellectual property boundaries.
